Dance school holiday programme for 7 - 12 year olds
Learn traditional dance styles and be immersed in traditional crafts, songs and food all week long

Monday: Pasifka dance
Students will learn Pasifika dance moves from professional dance instructors and work as a team towards performing an exciting choreographed dance in the afternoon.
Tamariki will spend time working on a flower crown and eating traditional vegetarian food, whilst listening to traditional stories and music.

Tuesday: Cuban Salsa
Students will learn Cuban salsa dance from professional dance instructors.
Tamariki will be provided with fresh, tasty and healthy traditional Cuban snacks (vegetarian) whilst listening to upbeat Cuban music whilst making a vibrant Cuban head or hat band.

Wednesday: Maori Kapa Haka
Tamariki will learn Maori Kapa Haka from professionals.
Kids will be offered tasty traditional snacks, learn the culture and stories of Aotearoa, and make headbands.

Thursday: Indian (Bollywood)
Kids will learn fun bollywood moves by a professional teachers, and work towards a choreographed dance in the afternoon.
Tamariki will also spend time eating traditional Indian snacks (vegetarian) and crafting colourful bangles.

Friday: Cuban Salsa
Even if they have attended the Tuesday class, your child will still be able to improve and learn new moves in this Friday Cuban Salsa class.

While students will be fully engaged in interactive dance activities throughout this week-long programme, we also seamlessly integrate valuable life skills that will help your child:

At emki, we are student-focused. This means we prioritize an interactive learning environment that not only helps children learn, but allows kids to be kids and have heaps of fun.
The dance school holiday program is for energetic kids of all experience levels who love to move. Tamariki can join from 1 - 5 days.
During the Dance school holiday programme, your child will be immersed in different vibrant cultures through dance. We’ll spend each day learning and practicing a fun and entertaining dance routine and working on crafting traditional dance wear.
Students will also get a chance to prepare and munch on simple traditional snacks, listen to traditional stories, engage in sing-along songs and make crafts.
